Perfectly suited for tall and narrow structures, helical piles stand ready to provide a robust foundation for your flags, signs, or light standards
Want to know what tall flagpoles, big signs, and light standards have in common? They can easily topple-over if not properly supported. Strong winds put enormous pressure on the foundation. Not to mention our harsh freeze/thaw cycle causing shifting or movement. Helical piles have been used for years to support tall structures and protect against vicious winds.
Installs deep into the ground to give unparalleled protection against wind and frost
Durable "helix plate" anchors firmly below the frost line, defending against movement from the freeze-thaw cycle
A variety of ultra-tough adapters are available that make it a snap to attach to your structure
Tall Structures Can Be Hard To Support
Most flagpoles, signs, or light standards are relatively lightweight. This is actually a problem, as typical foundations perform best under heavy loads that keep them from heaving upwards. Helical piles, conversely, offer superb performance even under lightly-loaded structures.
Wind Is A Problem
We don't need to tell you that it's pretty windy here on the prairies. As the wind pushes on your structure, it exerts something called "lateral force". Enough of this force can cause your flag, sign, or light, to fall right over. Thankfully this isn't a concern with helical piles, which have outstanding resistance to wind loads.
Fast To Install & Ready To Use
Speed isn't everything in life, but it's definitely something. You shouldn't have to wait days for a foundation to be installed just to build a straightforward sign or light standard. We can install your helical piles in a few short hours, so you can focus on building your new project.
Helical piles are installed 10' to 15' deep in order to prevent movement from frost during Manitoba winters
An adjustable adapter is installed at the top of the helical pile to provide an easy platform to connect your foundation to flagpoles, signs, or lighting
Your light standard, flag pole, or sign, can now be built on a durable and reliable foundation that will deliver decades of firm support
Manitoba has a problem. Far too many flagpoles, signs, and light standards, are being built on foundations that are messy to install, slow, and prone to shifting in our brutal winters.
We started Glawson Piling to provide homeowners and contractors with a foundation solution that's fast, strong, creates no mess, and won't budge even in the harshest weather. Fiercely independent, locally-owned, 100% committed to delivering unrivalled service.
Brad and Michelle showed right up on time to install our pilings. Although everything was very muddy it didn't slow them down at all. They worked very hard and were accommodating throughout the process even taking time to answer all of my questions. Great work and much appreciated. Thanks Michelle and Brad!
